file RMVB diputar di Media Player Classic HC tidak bersuara

Setelah lama tidak menulis, dikarenakan berbagai kesibukan. Akhirnya saya memberanikan diri untuk kembali berbagi sedikit tip dan trik. Mudah-mudahan dapat membantu. Beberapa waktu yang lalu ketika memutar file-file berformat RMVB dengan Media Player Classic - HC muncul pesan sebagai berikut:

Saya coba upgrade versi K-Lite Mega codec pack nya ke seri terbaru (saat artikel ini ditulis 6.4.0), namun tetap muncul pesan peringatan tersebut.

Concerning RMVB-files - from the offical FAQ:

Q: RMVB files play without sound
A: You are probably missing a decoder for RealAudio COOK. You can install that by following these steps:

1. Download the Windows version of binary codec pack for MPlayer.
http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html#binary_codec
2. Extract these files from the .zip archive: cook.dll, pncrt.dll, sipr3260.dll, drv33260.dll, drv43260.dll
3. Put those files in this folder: C:\Windows

Sesuai dengan saran diatas saya coba download file yang ini:
http://www.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/windows-essential-20071007.zip
bisa juga mirror ke:
ftp://ftp.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/windows-essential-20071007.zip

Setelah itu saya copikan file-file bersangkutan ke folder windows.
